Still Here: Reaffirming our commitment to, and advancing our impact in, Cincinnati’s Greater West End.
“As we reflect on 2024, we are proud of our organization’s continued progress. Our team continues to grow with the addition of another full-time therapist, a social work intern, and two Therapeutic Animal Assistants. We were able to reaffirm our dedication and expand our reach to the Greater West End by moving into a new, larger location just down Linn Street and secured a grant to fund the buildout of additional office spaces to support our continued growth. Our partnerships remain strong, including collaborations with the Lindner Center of Hope, the Council on Aging, FamWHOC, and LaSalle High School. We developed new relationships with a variety of community businesses and organizations, including the United Coalition for Animals (UCAN), Cincinnati Museum Center, FC Cincinnati, Santa Maria Community Services, Center for Addiction Treatment (CAT House), Horses on the Hill (BLOC Ministries), and Blue Ridge Mental Health.
We maintained our focus on providing quality mental health treatment and completed our first long-term Strategic Plan. We met or exceeded the majority of our quality goals, including those related to clinical outcomes, client protections, staff retention, and client and stakeholder satisfaction. We saw an increase in service delivery and referrals across all programs. We improved our Animal-Assisted Intervention group curriculums and therapeutic interventions by increasing education and competencies through the development and enhancement of our training programs, policies and processes, and through partnership with other organizations dedicated to animal welfare and mental health. Additionally, we have selected and joined multiple professional associations and were able to send staff to attend the International Association of Veterinary Social Work Summit.
Looking ahead to the coming year, we remain committed to providing exceptional care and increasing our percentage of clients representing underserved populations. Our focus will be on increasing awareness of our organization and expanding our reach within Cincinnati’s Greater West End communities. We look forward to obtaining national accreditation, growing our team, and increasing our range of service offerings. Our emphasis will be on improving outcomes, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and fostering the development of new partnerships. Additionally, we will enhance our training and continuing education initiatives, while expanding our Board of Directors to support our growing needs and capacity.
We would like to take the opportunity to express our gratitude for the ongoing support of the individuals who help strengthen our organization, assisting us in overcoming barriers of access to mental health services through immediate, direct action balanced with advancing our long-term stability and growth. Whether through donations, volunteering, offering expertise, sharing on social media, or spreading the word about our work, your contributions are invaluable. Our achievements and progress would not be possible without you.”
